The Set-Up (1949) will be shown on Sunday, February 8 at 5.30 for a 6.00pm screening.
This might be the best boxing movie ever made. It stars Robert Ryan and Audrey Totter, with a screenplay adapted by Art Cohn from a 1928 poem written by Joseph Moncure March.
Ryan himself had boxed when he was at Dartmouth College, graduating with the heavyweight boxing title for all four years of his attendance, along with awards in football and track.
